80% chance of rain in the Triad on Friday

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP ) — A round of rainfall is moving through early this morning but most will be dry as we approach 7 a.m. You’ll still want the rain gear with you today because another round of rainfall returns later this afternoon and evening. 

In addition to the rain gear, you may also want a jacket with temperatures in the upper-40s out the door this morning. Skies remain mostly cloudy throughout the day with afternoon highs in the mid-60s. Not only will it be wet and warm today but it’ll also be windy with winds around 10 to 20 mph and gusts to 35 mph possible. That means you may want to opt for a rain jacket instead of an umbrella. 

The good news is while rain lasts through the evening and late-night hours Friday, it’ll be gone by 1 a.m. on Saturday leaving us the rest of the morning and day Saturday to dry out. Temperatures start off in the mid-40s Saturday morning and skies will be mostly sunny. Afternoon highs reach the low-60s. 

Partly cloudy skies on Sunday but the weather remains quiet, good news for those heading to Bowman Gray Stadium for the Cook Out Clash. We’ll start the morning in the upper-30s and afternoon highs reach the mid-50s. An overall chillier day so if you’ll be spending time outdoors make sure you dress in layers. We’ll see temperatures in the upper-40s by the start of races Sunday evening/night so dress warmly. 

After a slight temperature drop this weekend, temperatures will warm back up for the work week. We’ll start Monday in the low-40s and afternoon highs reach the mid-60s with mostly sunny skies. A great day for a walk or a round of golf!

Skies remain partly cloudy on Wednesday with morning lows in the low 40s and highs in the low to mid 60s. A stray shower can’t be ruled out Wednesday but right now rain chances remain at 20%. 

An even warmer day Thursday with morning lows in the low 50s and highs in the low 70s. Partly cloudy skies with the chance for isolated showers. The chance for rain is 30%.
