34 more deaths due to flu in North Carolina during February

NORTH CAROLINA (WNCT) — There have been 34 more flu deaths in North Carolina, bringing the state’s total to 246, according to NCDHHS.

Since Oct. 5, 2024, 181 people 65 years old or over, 43 people between the ages of 50-64, 20 people between the ages of 25-49 and two people between the ages of 5-17 have died from the flu in North Carolina.

According to the CDC, flu season peaks in February, December, January and March in order of most to least active months.

If 2025 follows the path of previous years, the death toll from the flu should slow down after February.
