25-year-old dies in Greensboro's fourth homicide of 2025, police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man is dead after a shooting on West Vandalia Road around 9:23 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Police found Darius Deshaud Goolsby, 25, in the breezeway on the 2900 block of West Vandalia Road with a gunshot wound.

Despite life-saving efforts and being taken to a local hospital, police said Goolsby died of his injuries.

Police later arrested suspect Jalen Xavier Burch, 25, and charged him with first-degree murder.

This is Greensboro’s fourth homicide of 2025, according to the police department.
