The shootings happened less than 2 miles apart early Wednesday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were seriously injured in separate shootings early Wednesday, Medic said.
The first shooting happened near the intersection of Remount Road and West Boulevard around 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Medic confirmed one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The second shooting happened a few minutes later near Mr. C’s restaurant along West Morehead Street just outside Uptown. One person suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police hasn’t released any information about either incident at this time and it’s unclear what led up to the shootings. CMPD also hasn’t announced any arrests in connection with either shooting or said if they’re connected.
Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.
