WILMINGTON — Two people were arrested by Wilmington Police Department officers early Tuesday morning after attempting to flee the Volkswagen dealership on New Center Drive.
The suspects, 34-year-old Anthony Lynn and 42-year-old Melissa Patel of Wilmington, were allegedly attempting to break into several vehicles on site, according to the WPD’s investigation.
Law enforcement was called to the scene just before 3:45 a.m. in response to a burglary alarm activated in the 4900 block. The officers saw two suspects fleeing the scene but apprehended them.
Lynn was found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and Patel had more than five grams of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Lynn has been charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, breaking or entering motor vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held without bond.
Patel has a $25,000 secureis charged with PWIMSD schedule II controlled substance, felony possession schedule II controlled substance, breaking or entering motor vehicle, possession schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was given a $25,000 secured bond.
