1 dead, 2 others hurt in shooting at southeast Charlotte Airbnb

Officers found three people who had been shot at the rental, which is on Hollow Drive.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead and another two people are fighting for their lives in the hospital following an overnight shooting at a southeast Charlotte Airbnb, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said. 

It happened around 1 a.m. on Sunday in a neighborhood off of Monroe Road. 

Officers found three people who had been shot at the rental, which is on Hollow Drive. The Airbnb was rented out for an event, police said.

Medic took all three victims to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries. One of them was pronounced dead by medical staff shortly after arriving to the hospital.

The victims have not yet been publicly identified by police.

WCNC Charlotte is working to learn more. 

The investigation into the shooting is active and ongoing. The police department said it will release additional information as it becomes available.
